Forever controversial!

CONTROVERSY [NOUN] pronounced /kon.tra.ver.si/

DICTIONARY DEFINTION: PROLONGED PUBLIC DISAGREEMENT OR HEATED DISCUSSION.

Ahem. I hope all my lovely readers are having a wonderful day as amazing and brilliant as you are!

Like the quote goes, "Say what you mean, but don't say it mean"

Debating about controversial topics, having 'prolonged public disagreements' and 'heated discussions'  is a very fun pastime and can lead to a solid exchange of ideas and help to see the problem from different perspectives than to yours, unless you have serious anger issues πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Today's little post of MIKROKOSMOS features a couple of fun controversial ideas and topics of the modern world and personal opinions of the author. As always, constructive criticism is welcome in the comments! (Ya'll be nice to each other though *warning sign*)

1. CEREAL COMES FIRST, NOT MILK

I am one of those weird human beings who start the day off with a strong coffee, and sometimes, a smoothie or a cereal bowl (I'm aware that it is not very Sri Lankan of me *yikes!*)

Personally, I don't understand people who make their morning breakfast milk-first. How are you going to know how much cereal you need afterwards?! Unless you are an expert of making Coco Pops half asleep at 6 am, I strongly suggest you make your breakfast bowl the way it should be made: cereal-first!

2. HARRY POTTER IS BETTER THAN PERCY JACKSON

Agreed.

Not because Rick Riordan is any less of any author than J.K. Rowling, but because you see a lot of similarities in between the two series, and guess which fantasy-verse was written first!

Both storylines feature a slightly awkward teenage boy as the hero, with a somewhat socially inept bestfriend and a 'smart as a cookie' girl bossing them on the side. Both characters are expected to sacrifice themselves at the end (I mean, that's kinda what all heroes do anyways) and you can even find certain character crossovers! Examples (for educational purposes): Smelly Gabe and The Dursleys, Chiron and Professor Dumbledore, Kronos and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named :')

Share your opinions on the comments section, and don't forget to answer the two most important questions: What is your Hogwarts House?, and what is your favourite Magical subject?

3. PINEAPPLE BELONGS ON PIZZA

I've been defending pineapple on pizza since 8th grade, so-

According to yearbook quotes on Tumblr, "If you like Pineapple on pizza, I hope you like Pineapple slices in your children's graves because you are weak, your bloodline is weak, and you will not survive the winter"

Um hello? Scary much ?!

I'm a big fan of pineapple on pizza myself, I've got no complaints about my toppings. Definitely won't be sharing that piece of information if i ever go to Italy though, because I am currently not interested in being slaughtered in a foreign country, but the rest of the world is fair game!

Do you like pineapple on pizza too, or are we unfriending each other now? HAHA just kidding!

That's it for this week, lovelies.

Stay tuned for more fun stuff next week on MIKROKOSMOS, and remember to dream big and to plan bigger!

  5. I think Percy Jackson series is better than Harry potter. (Don't get me wrong I extremely love both.. )
Percy Jackson series is based on Greek gods and characters that already there. They already have there own story and a personality. Rick took the challenge of meeting all these characters together and creating a modern story without harming there originality. That's pretty clever man, You gotta do a lot of research and be so creative to do such a thing..
What Rowling did was pretty awesome too, creating a whole universe from a single book is .. what to say, I'm speechless. Yet I think What Rick did was more awesome.
Btw my pottermore put me 3 different houses each time I sign up. πŸ˜„ So I think I am a Grislypuff. And my favorite subject is defense against dark arts 😁

    1. I love this perspective of it because Riordan really had it tough since he had to create a storyline out of something that already existed, while making your own fantasy world is arguably easier... I'm a Slytherin and favourite subject is probably DADA or Transfiguration!
